I was born in Brisbane, Australia and have lived in many parts of Queensland. My father liked changing jobs so my twin sister and I would pack all our toys and books in an old tea chest and move onto the next exciting adventure.

As a child I have lived in Brisbane, Mossman, Southport, Oakey and later in the outback town of Charleville.

Early in my career I was a primary school teacher and a teacher-librarian. I also taught outback kids on School of the Air and this was a lot of fun.
